Donaghmore Ashbourne’s second team recorded their second win of the campaign when they recorded a comfortable win away to Blackhall Gaels. Playing against a strong wind in the opening period our lads were quick out of the blocks and recorded points from Paul Gilligan, Tony Morgan and a Mattie Devine free within the first 4 minutes. The home side did reply with two frees before Gilligan found the back of the net on 10 minutes. By the end of the first quarter the home side had taken the lead with a goal on 12 minutes and points on 13 and 14 minutes.
Mattie Devine brought the sides level with a free on 18 minutes and an Iarlaith O’Donnell point on 23 minutes restored the lead for the Moores. Donaghmore Ashbourne got off to a perfect start in the second half when Mattie Devine scored a goal on 32 minutes. With the aid of the wind Donaghmore Ashbourne had plenty of opportunities to extend the lead but registered 6 wides before Michael Roche finally scored the first point of the second half on 42 minutes. Devine got his second goal of the evening when he converted a penalty on 44 minutes.
The sides traded on 47 minutes with Ross Hanway pointing for Donaghmore Ashbourne and the home side replying within 30 second with their only score of the second half.
The final period of the  game saw Donaghmore Ashbourne close out the game with points from O’Donnell (two), Devine, Roche and Gilligan together with a further three attempts that  went wide.
Apart from Joey Long sustaining a hamstring injury Donaghmore Ashbourne crossed back over the M3 happy with the evenings proceedings.
