Donaghmore Ashbourne’s second team continued their winning ways as they travelled to Kilberry to see off the home side and earn another valuable 2 away points.

Our lads started off the brightest and had most of the possession in the opening half and lead at the end of the first quarter  by 4 points to no score with Keith Scally getting the opening two scores and Kevin Lanigan and Stephen Kavanagh extending the lead.
The second quarter was a more equal affair and with by the 25th minute Wolfe Tones reduced the deficit to 2 points despite all of our possession. A strong finish in the half saw Tony Morgan find the back of teh next after a good solo run and when Ross Hanway and Eric Callaghan pointed late on the scoreboard at the interval was a better reflection of the game.
The third quarter of the game only saw one point scored and this went to the home side from a free within a minute of the restart.
The home side got a lifeline just on 45 minutes when a long range free ended up in the back of the net and two minutes later another free was pointed by the Tones to leave only 2 points between the teams heading for the closing stages of the game.
This lapse in concentration seemed to kick the Donaghmore Ashbourne lads back into gear and they replied with three unanswered points from a Lanigan free (53 mins), Iarlaith O’ Donnell (54 mins), and Scally on 56 minutes.
The home side did get another life line on 57 minutes when they managed to poke the ball over the line when the Donaghmore Ashbourne back line failed to clear but a well taken point from Sean Harmon on 59 minutes closed out the game.
