No luck for our Junior D team

Our fourth and final team also travelled to Skryne to be part of a double header with Ballinlough providing the opposition in the Junior D quarter final. Unfortunately our lads, despite trying to playing football were guilty of a number of mistakes at critical times and the experienced Ballinlough punished us. We lost out on a final score line of  2-10 to 1-07  but managed to stay in the game up to the final minutes when there was only 3 point between the teams. Considering that this was our first year in the competition some lads will have gained a huge amount of experience that will help us next year. Click here for Match Report.

Junior A team lose out by a single point

Our junior A lost out in thier quarter final game is disappointing fashion in Skryne on Sunday evening. Playing against a first team (Dunsany) our lads played very well in the opening half to lead by 0-08 to 0-02. By the end of the third quarter we were still in control as we led by 1-10 to 0-04. However in the final quarter we hit five wides while Dunsany scored 1-07 without reply, the winner coming in injury time to book a place in the semi fianl on a score line of 1-10 to 1-11. Keegan Cup run comes to a disappointing end

Our senior team’s quest for Keegan Cup glory came to a disappointing end in Pairc Tailteann tonight as the lads went down by 2-11 to 1-08 at the hands of Skryne. We got off to the worst possible start by conceding a goal in the first minute and a further two points in the 3rd and 4th minutes. From this point on we were chasing the game. We trailed at the break by 1-02 to 1-07 with our goal coming from David Morgan on 11 minutes.
A good start to the second half saw three quick points within the first two minutes to reduce the deficit to 2 between the teams but a Paddy O’Rourke goal on 41 minutes closed out the game for the Tara men.
Overall we didn’t perform to our best ability and the concession of the early scores cost us dearly.

Junior C Team Kick off Weekend with hard earned win

Our Junior C team kicked off a very important weekend with a hard earned 1-07 to 0-08 win over Syddan in the Quarter final in Donore on Friday night, A low scoring first half saw our lads lead at the interval at by 1-04 to 0-03. Playing against the breeze in the second half it was backs against the wall  as we ran out two point winners to book a place in the final. Hopefully the other three teams can continue the winning ways. Click here for Match Report.

Junior C team top Championship Group

Our third team travelled to Dunshaughlin on Saturday night for their final group game where Moynalvey provided the opposition. With both teams already qualified the result determined the final positions in teh table. Although Moynalvey led by 4 points to 1 after 13 minutes a Steven Condon goal on 14 minutes was the turning point. Within 4 minutes of this score anoher goal from Fionan Mulvihill and points from both of the goal scorers turned the tide in Donaghmore Ashbourne's  favour.  John Lynch also raised the green flag on the stroke of half time to lead the score 3-04 to 0-07 in favour of Donaghmore Ashbourne. The second half was an even enough affair but Donaghmore Ashbourne ran out 4-10 to 0-11 winners. Don Ash scores were Stephen Condon 2-03, John Lynch 1-02, Fionan Mulvihill 1-01, Ross Tormey 0-02, David Carey 0-01 and Dylan Reeves 0-01.Match report to follow.

Following on from their championship success on Saturday night the third team were in league action last night as they hosted Trim in a top of the table clash. Although trailing at the break by 1-03 to 0-08 we produced a great second half performance to runout 4-09 to 0-11 winners. They now sit on the top of the league with a couple  of games to go. Match report to follow.
