Aideen Ferry
Congratulations to Aideen Ferry who has been called up to the Meath Team. Aideen has been a county standard goal-keeper for many years and we are delighted that this has finally been recognised and wish her every success in her training and matches with the team.
2011 Camogie
Both the Junior and Senior leagues will get underway this weekend in the county.
The Junior team will take on Navan O' Mahoney's at 7.30pm in Navan on Saturday the 12th.
The Senior Team will be out to Kilmessan at home in Donaghmore/Ashbourne at 7.30pm on Monday the 14th. The senior team are now under the management of Morgan Garry our selector and former underage manager for many years so his knowledge of both the player's abilities and all the technical aspects of the game will hopefully help the Intermediate team go even further in this year's championship after losing the final two years in a row. His right hand woman will be former player and life long supporter Eithne Tormey who has been pitch side for all camogie matches in the club and will no doubt be an influential component to this year's success. Intermediate Final to go ahead
The contentious Intermediate Final will take place this Tuesday week the 16th of November at 7.30pm in Trim GAA Grounds. The Don/Ash girls will take on Na Fianna as planned to decide who 2010's Intermediate Camogie Champions will be.
Best of Luck to the Girls, John, Morgan and Maura!
Fancy Dress
The club's fancy dress fundraiser will take place on Saturday the 30th of October in the clubhouse. Doors open at 9pm and it will be a €5 admission fee which will go directly to the club. Please show your support as it promises to be a great night.
3 in a row means Intermediate Final place secured!
The Donaghmore Ashbourne Intermediate team has reached the county final for the second year running. With convincing victories over Na Fianna and Kilmessan in 2 of our 3 must win matches which we played in the past 8 days. The third of these three matches was set to be played against Rataoth but when they failed to turn up we were awarded the points. This year we hope to go one further by claiming the title. The will face the same Na Fianna side whom they have played twice during the run up to the final. It promises to be a closely contended final as Na Fianna beat us in the first round by a single point. However if we use the same hard work and teamwork we did when we overcame them last Thursday night the title should come to Ashbourne for the first time in our club's history.
Best of Luck Lizzie!
This weekend the Meath Premiere Junior Camogie team will be playing in the All-Ireland Semi Finals against Waterford at 2pm in Dr. Cullen Park, Carlow. As always, Lizzie Lynch will be representing the club on the team.
Best of luck to Lizzie and the girls! Congratulations
Well done to Lorna Cronolly who played a in the Ratoath match last week which was held the night before her marriage ceremony. We hope this dedication will traverse into her marriage and that she has a long and happy life together with her new husband.

Peg Kavanagh returns home!
Our girls added another trophy to the Donaghmore Ashbourne cabinet after they won our annual seven a side competition. It was a great day and well organized by Maura Roche. We had teams from Meath and Westmeath participating as well as an A and a B team from our own club. The A team that won on the day was made up by Aideen Ferry, Liz Keagan, Suzanne Keagan, Lizzy Lynch, Mairead Finn, Katherine Mulhaire, Ali Fitgerald, Emma Tormey and Sorcha Ferry. All money raised on the day went to a cancer research charity.
A setback for the intermediates.
It was a disappointing night for the intermediate girls who had a bad loss against Kiltale this week at home in Donaghmore Ashbourne. With one game left in the championship the girls need to overcome Dunderry on the 4th of September if they are to progress any further in the championship. See the intermediate page for match report.

Leinster Final confirmed in Donaghmore Ashbourne.
The Leinster camogie final has been fixed for Sunday 16th of August at 2.00pm in Donaghmore Ashbourne! Meath take on Wicklow in their quest for more silverware to add to their ever expanding collection. This is a huge achievement for the club to host such a high profile game. This is a reflection of the friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the club combined with the hard work of the volunteers who ensure that all matches that we host run smoothly. Bronagh Gaughan,Terry Tormey and Janet Lannigan have played a massive role in organization of all of the camogie matches that have been played in Donaghmore Ashbourne. It also helps that we have one of the countries finest grounds and congratulations must go to Greg and all of the ground committee for their hard work all year. Finally this match would not have been played here either if Meath were not participating in it and it is partly down to Donaghmore Ashbourne camogie member Lizzy Lynch that Meath have made it this far. Lizzy scored an unbelievable 2-2 out of Meath's 2-7 against Laois last week in the Leinster Semi Final. Best of luck Lizzy and keep up the great performances!
Best of Luck Lizzy!
Congratulations to Lizzy Lynch who is a prominent member of the Meath team who will be contesting in an All-Ireland Semi Final this Saturday the 8th of August. This is a great achievement for the county and also personally for Lizzy. It seems the harder the challenge the higher Lizzy rises. Everybody in the club is extremely proud of what she has accomplished this year.
Championship Sucess.
The intermediate team finally got back to winning ways when they out-preformed Kilmessan in every position on the pitch. It was a great display of camogie and also a great display of club support. See here for match report. Not at all is lost for the Intermediate team The Intermediate team lost out to a though Kiltale side on Thursday night. However if the girls had more confidence in the beginning of the match and luck on their side the outcome could have been different as the teams were very evenly matched. Round 3 of Intermediate Championship
The intermediate team will restart their campaign for championship success when they face Kiltale on Thursday night. The game will be plated in Kiltale at 7.30 pm. This game comes after a long brake for the leaving Cert and Junior Cert exam period and the Team are eager to get back to action. With their hearts focused on securing a second medal this year to add to their collection the girls need a win on Thursday. Having lost their first game and home to Rataoth and eventually redeeming themselves when they beat Dunderry away the girls know that this game will make or break them for this year's season. Make sure you come support!
Disappointment for the U14s
Well done to the under 14s who played a hard fought match last Saturday in front of a large Don/Ash crowd. The girls were unfortunate to lose out by 2 points and the game could have easily gone our way as we matched Rataoth in every position. Well done to all involved. See the under14 page for more details.

Our three girls are not only starting for this strong and unbeaten team but they are the prominent members of the team which is a great reflection on our club. Maggie plays mid-field, Cathy wears the number one jersey and Shelby starts in the forwards. The Westmeath match in particular was a fantastic exhibition of the talent and skill that these three up and coming stars possess. It is a privilege for our club to have our players praised while playing for their county and a tribute to both their own hard work and also the dedication of their mentors in the club.
