Following the teams disappointing defeat to Kilmessan last week, the Donaghmore ladies knew they needed to come away from this game with a win under their belt. Boardsmill started off with a great start, scoring a goal within the opening minutes of the game. Donaghmore/ Ashbourne responded to this score with a fantastic run from Roisin Williams, to score Donaghmore's opening point. From this score the match began. Boardsmill fought back with two more points from a free and a forty-five, before Liz Keegan scored a goal shortly before half time. Keeping both teams neck and neck to the break. 

From the second half throw both teams fought hard to get scores. Boardsmill opened the second half with a free from play.The Donaghmore/Ashbourne back lines worked hard to keep scores at bay, along with Michelle Johnston and Edel Carberry of midfield passing great opportunities to the forwards. These opportunities were taken by the Donaghmore/Ashbourne forward lines, with Aoife O' Neill scoring a goal to put the Intermediate team ahead. Boardsmill returned with another score from play, before Aoife O' Neill scored another goal. Pulling Donaghmore/ Ashbourne away from the oppostion. A late attack by Boardsmill seen another point go on the board. Before another attack by the Donaghmore/ Ashbourne girls seen Sinead Baxter score a goal. Just before the full time whistle, a final attack from the Boardsmill full forwards seen a goal opportunity saved by Aideen Ferry and Lorna Dervin. Instead, only scoring a point. 

Overall, the Donaghmore/ Ashbourne ladies restarted their 2011 Championship with a great win. Skillful determination was shown throughout the match by the Intermediate team, hoping to continue this success in their next forthcoming game.
