Date: 11th April 2010 Venue: Ashbourne Full Time: Donaghmore Ashbourne 1-17 O’Mahonys 1-08 Half Time: Donaghmore Ashbourne 1-09 O’Mahonys 0-02 Devine Inspiration for Donaghmore Ashbourne Although being dropped from the Meath Minor panel Mattie Devine was in superb form as he gave a man of the match performance to help Donaghmore Ashbourne to a comfortable round 3 win over O’Mahonys in the Division 1 Minor Football League on Friday night. Devine who registered 2-04 in the previous game against Ratoath had an equally impressive tally of 12 points in this encounter. The home side played good open football in the opening period to lead at the break by 1-09 to 0-02 with the goal coming from Evan Rogers after 8 minutes. Cormac Fagan and Mathew Nugent registered a point each for the home side to add to Devine’s tally of 7 points. The second half was a much more even affair and with both sides trading scores throughout the half. Donaghmore scorers for this period included a brace from Cormac Fagan, a point from Ciaran Buckley and Devine adding a further 5 points to his first half scores.
