GAA Anniversary Celebrations
This weekend the GAA celebrated the 125th Anniversary of the formation of the GAA. To mark this historic occasion Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA Club held a weekend of celebrations. Events over the weekend included a presentation on the early history of the club by Frank Reidy, together with a night of traditional music, song and dance on Friday night. On Saturday the club had a celebration mass in the Ashbourne church which was followed by a parade of teams to the clubhouse. GAA president Christy Cooney was due to visit the club to unveil a plaque to commemorate the occasion but due to illness he had to pull out at the final minute, however GAA Vice President and Munster Chairman Jimmy O’Gorman  was present as a most suitable substitute.

Thanks to all who took part in the celebrations this weekend, and to everyone who put in the hard work organising the events.
